the traveling circus reached their quota for dwarfs
Well seeing the personal shit he’s had to go through the last two years I’d say he has a lot on mind but that doesn’t mean he isn’t dedicated to winning fights.
If you want someone to blame then blame the UFC for continuing to let him fight at a weight class he is struggling to make the weight for. Some guys just aren’t as disciplined at cutting weight without the proper guidance. Did that make Kelvin “not dedicated” ? Not at all, weight cutting is just difficult for some guys and it isn’t necessarily dedication as it is disciplined.
but I’m sure it’s easy to question someone’s dedication that you know nothing about and have no experience cutting weight for high profile events either.
Lots of people go through things, Borg isn’t special. It’s 100% about dedication. If you’re dedicated you do everything in your power to make weight. Lose more muscle and stop relying on cutting. How the fuck is this the UFC’s fault for “letting” him fight in a weight class he’s struggling in? They made him move up a weight class a few fights back and he STILL missed weight. Why are you making all these excuses for the guy?
To be be disciplined is to be dedicated, and to be dedicated is to be disciplined.....plain and simple.
mexicans dont cut weight so he needs to move up
Why do they keep this clown around. He has to be the most unprofessional fighter out there.
Ray Borg and High Profile in the same sentence is a big no, you're reaching buddy.
Obviously not since he couldn't provide for his sick son and Schuab paid for it
Man the DJ trade was lopsided. They could have kept DJ and still made cejudo Triple C.
Borg is one of those guys who looks tiny but somehow struggles with weight. He's Lineker 2. 0 without the ko power.
Have him fight.. Kane!!
I remember how desperately Mighty Mouse campaigned for that fight because TJ was "suspect of not making weight" "Please give me the guy who actually missed weight several times and is a nobody because TJ might miss it".
That was one of the most obvious duckings ever followed through in MMA.
Coming from a champ that was like reputation suicide.
Blame the UFC? Did I read that right?
They let him go up to 135. He missed there too.
Not really, he got a title shot at FLW which was cleaned dry by DJ so they were looking for anyone to feed to the Mouse so they even gave it to a guy they weren't even sure would make weight.
To an extent I understand it since TJ never made 125 while technically Borg has.
But yeah it was really lame. Sure he got an iconic finish but really that fight got like a tenth of the hype that a fight with TJ would've got. That was DJ's chance to potentially become a star but in the end he cared more about breaking a record even though pretty much no one else did.
I couldn't even remember that it HAPPENED to Borg over someone else.
Not really. Sure DJ is an exponentially better fighter than Ben but the fact that the trade led to the UFC generating one of its greatest highlights, even though it was at Ben's expense, meant that they got more value out of it than if they kept DJ.
Sure that armbar is also an exceptional highlight but that event did really poorly in terms of PPV buys and that was even before the ESPN deal IIRC. DJ is just PPV cancer and trading him for Ben was the right move even if the value out of that was really in allowing Masvidal to become a break out star at Ben's expense.
I feel for his situation with the kid.....but if you’re not focused enough to cut weight you’re not focused enough to be in the cage.
Except T.J. had NEVER made 125 in a pro fight and Borg had. Stop pushing Dana’s narrative.
high-profile would be any UFC fight as fighting in this company gives you the most exposure of any MMA brand. Good job missing the mark tho
If a fighter missed weight in 2 divisions it’s fair to question them
BWAHAHAH cuts like knife
