Rashad won't even consider fighting Anthony Johnson because they're "friends".

"We fight all the time," he said of training with 'Rumble'. "We fight more than the UFC can pay us, I'll tell you that. We fight every single day. We're each other's number one training partners. So, would I fight him professionally? No, I wouldn't. I don't need to fight him. We feed off each other in a lot of different ways and I can't fight him."

Didn't he go down this path before with Jones only to lose a bunch of and hespect. Dude needs to stop making excuses.. I mean friends.

But does AJ refuse to fight him? Will Rashad get burned again? Will he now have to ruin another special night?

Rashad and Rumble will never fight because they're teammates. I think everyone knows where Rashad stands on fighting teammates and it should be respected.

The chasing the poor dude all around the country. Jones chasing him away from Jackson's and now rumble chasin him away from black zillions, where the dude have to go left? Aka? Tristar? Poor guy

Wait until Rumble wins the belt and Rashad comes in to ruin his special night

Rumble better not say he would even consider it. Suga catches feelings easy.

Yep. Team mates. Stop trying to cause a rucus.

They are good friends and Rashad talks more about him than Rumble talks about himself. Shad's almost like his manager.

You make it sound like he was offered this fight and turned it down with that title or maybe I just wanted it to read that way..... But I would not fight my number one training partner unless it was for a title.

According to him they fight everyday. Why not get paid for it then. He needs to stop training with contenders and Champs if they are just gonna end up standing in his way.

Fighting and training are two way different things. Rashad can fight guys like Gus, Glover, and DC to get another title shot. Rumble is just one contender, it won't hold Rashad back unless he's the champ. If Rumble does ever become champ, Rashad will drop to 185 or retire, and that would be his choice due to the respect he has for his teammates.

You're right, he should train only with guys that suck, and people that are either bigger than him or smaller.
He fights his friend so the get closer to their dream,
it's training to get better, not to show who is better.
and doing that outside of training would just serve to ruin one of their chances at their dreams, man. :icon_conf

I don't see the big deal and wouldn't surprise me one bit if Rashad went down in weight if Rumble so happen to get a shot and win. Do you blame him for not wanting to fight him? I'm sure real good training partners are hard to find especially ones that can actually elevate your game.
