The chart above shows only completed rapes, not attempted rapes.
* Increase with 1666% since 1975.
* Reported rapes increased with 8% last year and 33% compared to 10 years ago.
* The number of reported rapes last year (467) were higher than the total number of rapes in 1975 (421).
A lot of people like to point out that Sweden changed the law in 2005 regarding what constitutes a rape and that is the reason for the spike in number of rapes (they implemented a broader definition of what constitutes a rape). But bear in mind, the increase of sexual abuse follows the same trend:
Rape is the purple graph and sexual abuse is the dotted pale lilac graph.
The next scapegoat is to claim that people are more eager to report sex crimes today because of #MeToo and a change of societal norms regarding victim-hood. But according to the government, only 9% of all sex crimes are reported and the general trend with reporting crimes to the police has decreased from 31% in 2013 to 26% in 2015.
