This doesn't quite fit in the heavies and I prefer the more educated posters here anyway.

In your opinion, what is the best way to rank fighters in a sport or organisation and what is the best way to determine match ups?

I like the idea of a point system, winners and losers gaining or losing points based on the points/rank of the opposing competitor.
Also, regulating matchups so that all are within a certain number of ranking positions is an idea I like.

I'm working on a sequel to Face Puncher and in the process of creating a league/ranking system, it's proving to be a tricky thing.

There were a few decent ELO systems I've seen around and it always seemed better than the "Dana's favorites" or "journalists Dana pays to vote for his favorites" systems.

There was a guy on here that had developed a website and posted his rankings.

He's still got it going. @zec1234
