I asked in the WR lounge thread a while back who you guys thought was a better POTUS.. Clinton or Obama. Of course I think my man Bill was better.

But then came across this article, compiled by a survey done by C-Span and they got Obama three spots ahead of Bill.

If you don't want to slide through the slideshow, you can click the tile presentation in the middle of the arrows.

Where do you think Trump will land when it's all said and done?

Trump da GOAT

Didn't you hear? he has absolute power over restarting the economy. Lol you can't make this shit up

Edit: I'm kind of surprised at how high they put Eisenhower

Obama was much better than Clinton, and Trump will be at the bottom of the list. Took office with a booming economy and through gross incompetence turned it to a depression, while previously weakening our position to deal with a downturn. Also the most corrupt president ever. Also, massively weakened our leadership role in the world.

A sensible ranking of any president requires a few decades to allow for the cooling of partisan ardor.

Thanks for the legit response Jack.

Honestly I think Clinton was last "conservative" president we've had for all intents and purposes. Kept the national debt low, wasn't a war hawk (big for me)

Unemployment was low and education reform (the rise of the charter school).. and overall homicide rate dropped quite a bit by the time he left office.

you have to be semi-reasonable with your bullshit, or the last remaining diehards will see through it.

I don't think he had much to do with the fall in crime or the low unemployment (or generally strong economy). Tax hike + tax hike under Bush 41 + booming economy were the big factors in the surplus. One of those he gets some credit for. Welfare reform was bad. SCHIP was good. Generally competent but not really significant president IMO.

Not only that, but hindsight often gives a better idea of who did what right and wrong.

If I may, though I'm not American, I quite like Roosevelt. New Deal + WWII + 12 years of presidency, quite a ride.

The crime reform bill was a big deal. I don't think the assault weapons ban accomplished anything but the funding that put more police on the streets did. Especially in NYC

I don't think the crime bill was a big deal (in a positive way as a lot of the right thinks or a negative way as a lot of the left thinks). I think the environment-toxin theory of the rise and fall of crime in America is the best (doesn't explain all of either effect, but it explains more of it than any other factor, IMO). So that's another right-place/right-time thing.

FDR Abe Teddy

The rest are trash

Also lmao@W not last place

Obama is worst in modern era, no doubt in my mind. I'm not American, but my main beefs are: Creating racial divide, US/Iran nuclear deal and his passivity on the global stage resulting in US cuckholdery.

Clinton was strangely boss and the economy boomed. His dalliances are his biz.

It's gonna be a pretty worthless poll, considering it will be front loaded with recognizable names.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the top three will be:

Lincoln
Kennedy
Obama

Trump would be lucky to avoid the bottom spot.

Tops are
FDR
Abraham Lincoln

Truman
Monroe

Obama is fringe top ten. GHWB gains higher status over time, eventually top 20.

You can tell from all the emergencies hes handled and how great the country is. Everyone is really brought together too.
This WuFlu will eclipse the housing crash plus 9/11 combined by magnitudes. There's no good way of handling this and very few leaders reacted quick enough. There are no comparisons to be had.

Lol @ Truman getting ranked so highly for “crisis management”...i.e. dropping dos nukes on Japan.
