GSP is probably the big boss of this one, but there have been several other high-profile non-wrestlers who have developed the kind of MMA wrestling that defeats even lifelong wrestlers.
ROB THE REAPER the current KING of 185, never wrestled competitively until 2015 but even as a former 170 guy has been able to make seasoned wrestlers at 185 look like chumps.
DEMIAN MAIA was from BJJ but even as an old man was able to develop solid enough MMA wrestling to take his one-dimensional game to a title shot in one of the deepest divisions.
JUNIOR DOS SANTOS, from a boxing base, at his height made Cain's takedowns look like those of a small child, leaving Velsaquez on his knees on the mat time and time again until the cardio advantage started to work in Cain's favour.
JOSE ALDO started out as a BJJ guy who isn't just famed as a Wrestler-Killer in one of the deepest divisions in the sport because of his unworldly takedown DEFENSE, but his OFFENSIVE Takedown Success Rate (from before he became more one-dimensional as the miles piled up on him) was one of the best in the UFC: 74% Georges St-Pierre, 72% JOSE ALDO, 59% Chael Sonnen, 57% Chris Weidman, 56% Demetrious Johnson, 55% Chad Mendes, 55% Brock Lesnar, 52% Jon Jones, 49% Khabib Nurmagomedov, 48% Johny Hendricks, 46% Rashad Evans, 45% TJ Dillashaw, 44% Ryan Bader, 43% Cain Velasquez, 40% Daniel Cormier
