I prefer my comic book movies with humor. I think all of them are flawed and way too long but all of them are competently made. I do wish they'd go back to being more grounded again though. Too much CG and cartoony action and not enough story and downtime which is why none of the Avengers made my list.

Yup it’s that time again. Pretty sure this thread has been done in the past but let’s see your updates lists! Make sure to post why as well.

1. Avengers: Infinity War
Easily the best movie imo. Overall just a really great movie

2. Thor: Ragnorak
Really made Thor a fan favorite. Before he was just a meh character but he’s really come into his own

3. Captain America: Civil War
Great plot with some cool twists

4. Doctor Strange. Yes my bias is showing. Doctor strange is just the coolest character ever. Don’t understand why people didn’t like this movie more.

5. Spider-man: Homecoming.
Another movie picked mostly because of the superhero.
Would have picked GOTG but the humor just doesn’t translate over a TV screen upon second watch imo.

I haven’t seen Black Panther but I suspect it would be in my top 5. Despite a lot of people telling me it was only ‘ok’

I would switch strange and spidey but otherwise I agree. Maybe Winter Soldier as an alternate

The movie that most impressed me? Ant-Man. Simply because I hated the character in the comics and think the power was stupid there however the movie was far better than I expected and I really enjoyed it which I was very surprised by. They made the powers work in a visual medium that the comics couldn't for me.

Dr. Strange just fought Dormandu (or however you spell his name) and Thanos, literally the toughest bad guys in the MCU, and gave both of them hell... and now he's going to contest against that weird black guy?

I just saw black panther yesyerday. It wasnt very good. Whats the hype about? Is it just because black people are in it? It was seriously mediocre at best

The characters were interesting and the plot surprised me. The Iron Man suit is the least interesting aspect of that movie.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and Doctor Strange gets an honourable mention. They were both goofy fun, but they were also directed well and entertaining. Avengers 1 and 2 were nauseating, and Black Panther is highly overrated.

The MCU only really hit its stride in 2014 for me with both the Russo's more serious take and the more playful cosmic side coming to the fore, I enjoyed several flms before that but besides perhaps the original Ironman I don't think any of them were great.
