Rank the Batmen

I know you said live action but honestly if any voice other than Kevin Conroy's comes out of the bats mouth it just seems wrong to me.

Bale just had the best story/script. He wasn't necessarily the best Batman.
This is a fantastic point. I've always said Bale was best but I could seriously be thinking that only because I consider Christopher Nolans movies to be superior to the others.

I still liked Bale but as a kid, it was always Michael Keaton for me. Admittedly, I haven't seen Ben Affleck yet.

this one

but seriously:

Keaton as Batman, Affleck as a really really close second.

Bale as cocky Bruce.

Affleck as real Bruce (carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders).

I got to give Adam West some serious props for drinking four huge glasses of buttermilk on camera like a champ in the episode where King Tut was slipping some mind control drug into the water. My wife needed some buttermilk for baking so I took a sip of some for the first time ever this past weekend. Fucking yuck. But West stood there and downed them like a boss. Mad respect.

West is best.

1. Kevin Conroy. The quintessential Batman. The most calculating cold and intimidating too but also suave and debonair as Wayne.

2. Michael Keaton. The best Wayne and most talented actor out of all of them. Was able to pull off a convincing Batman besides all the camp and shitty rubber suit tech.

3. Christian Bale. Great movies and most of that credit I'd give to Dir. Nolan but credit where credit is due to the star of the DK trilogy. His raspy Batman voice is cringy though.

4. Ben Affleck. He can jump 2 spots on my list behind Conroy if he can kill it again, pun intended in the new Batman standalone movie. He was perfect as Wayne and a brutal visceral bats. He doesn't have the sample size to fully convince me though.

5. Adam West. The OG. Smooth smart funny bats from the golden age of comics. Campy but he executed the camp with his sidekick co-star Burt Ward perfectly.

6. Val Kilmer. The 1st of the shitty bats. Forever wasn't his fault really but he still phoned it in and didn't convince me at all as Wayne. Looked like mad martigan playing dress up. Just very mediocre.

7. George Clooney. When the star of his own movie hates his own involvement with the movie you know where his ranking is going to be. Completely phoned in performance. Terrible all around.

1) batfleck

2) keaton

3) bale

The rest i ignore..

Yeah I hated his batvoice.

Conroy shouldn't have been disallowed from consideration, though. He's the GOAT Batman and Bruce Wayne IMO.

Batman Arkham trilogy has the best Batman voice.

Clooney got hosed with a shitty script but had potential to be a great batman if the movie wasnt such garbage.

Agreed. Same thing happened with Green Lantern and Reynolds. There's only so much you can do with what was given to them...

Keaton > *

I wouldn't say Bale got the best scripts. He had like 10 hours of screen time or whatever. It was brutal. Batman doesn't have 5 minutes of worthwhile dialogue in him. Burton knew that.
