Ridiculously underrated and so much respect for this guy for fighting like 6 or 7 days after burying his mother. What a champ.
 
He's like the last white rhino, one of the last remaining pure BJJ specialists in this modern era. And 10-3 in the UFC, no less. He's still the only person to land the north-south choke in MMA I've seen outside Jeff Monson. Glad he could win this one for his mom

I think Prazeres did one against Burnell, but i agree i really want to see him get a chance to get into the Rankings and to see where his ceiling is.

The only thing Monson has done than Rani hasn't is spray an anarchist A on the Washington State Capitol.
With a few months working on can control and a good lookout, Rani could get to Jeff's level of graffiti expertise.

But seriously, Rani is as slick as they come and probably even more of a purist than Demian, which is saying something.
 
Guy reminds me of Maia.

Probably why he'll have a tough time getting a big fight. Too much risk, no reward fighting a guy like him.
 
I always root for Yahya, the guy is like Rodney Dangerfield, gets no respect.

I swear I've never seen someone earn this many submission wins in the UFC and not earn a post-fight bonus before. And they've been some rare ones like north-south and kimura.
 
I am a big fan. His grappling is so sick. His finishing rate with subs is ridiculous!!!!

I can't wait to see his next fight. I hope it is somebody good that he also matches up well with stylistically
 
Yeah, he had a couple of atrociously boring fights in the UFC but he is an elite grappler, he seems like a legit good guy and I still thank him for tapping salty Bedford in the rematch.

Rani is such an awesome grappler, that it’s comical to watch his opponents try to avoid his grasp.

How can you not like that guy, unless you’re one of those grappler-hating bitches?
