Randy was beating Tito, Vitor and Chuck at the age of 40

Well he did have a huge decline already with back to back loses and a decently close fight with an undersized fighter while on steroids. I think if the Bisping fight is even competitive then Silva isn't up there in regaurds to longevity. Keeping in mind Anderson was most likely on TRT his entire career.

No, Anderson was mostly likely a full on roider his whole career. Failing your first random looks horrible.

Where are you getting "Randy was on TRT?" If he ever used a PED it wasn't testosterone as part of hormone replacement therapy. He always claimed he wasn't using PED's, so he certainly wasn't getting an exemption from any AC. TRT isn't a substance, testosterone is the substance, and there are other forms of PED's that were the more likely choice if he was using something back in the day. Again though, he never tested positive.

I could be wrong but I recall reading that he's been on TRT for a long time. I don't know the exact dates of when he was on or off testosterone. I wasn't using it to bash him or anything, just meant to say that it would definitely help an aging person stay competitive.

Some people say things when they don't really know the details

Randy was on TRT and had far less MMA experience, and while his body may have been beaten up from years or wrestling, at least he wasn't taking punches for all those years. Stylistically Randy also doesn't rely heavily on speed, reflexes and being able to counter whereas those are big aspescts of Anderson's game

Ban this a-hole for this blatant fighter bashing. This poster is on man kok!

What is worse, they follow it up with even more retarded horse manure.

17,000 posts and this sheit? It isn't like the prohibitive majority of the early into the twenty some odd year old MMA fighters are banking payroll far in excess of their counterparts in industry.

Why would it be less that retardation for ANY person to go into MMA as a late teen - early 20 year olds rather than electing to make decent money taking ZERO damage in industry and going into MMA later in life in their 30's like Werdum, Couture, Lesnar & Carwin (All UFC HW champions by the way!)?

Pretty sure his nickname was ironic. That's why he was beating people up in his 40s.

You give Anderson some of the horsemeat Randy was on at the time and he would do just fine.

So what. I'm 40 and could whoop everybody ITT.

Wtf are you on about?

Seriously wtf are you even ranting about? Why are you bringing up a bunch of older fighters?

When will people understand that fight mileage >>>>> age?

How many fights had Randy fought when he was 40? How many has Anderson? This comparison is just dumb.

Chill out man.. You take things way too seriously. Do you even sex bro ?

Randy's style was more conducive to fighting at an older age. Anderson is much more reliant on timing, speed, reflexes, etc. Randy was all about the grind, and was in incredible shape.

Seriously guys... Randy also boxed for a number of years in the Army. He took more punishment from punches than many of his MMA counterparts... it's a legit comparison when talking about wear and tear

randy's fighting style is better for longevity. you can fight old like that...the cardio takes a hit, but overall his skillset can last longer with age.

silva is mostly a striker, and his style is especially focused on timing, reflexes, speed, and power. all of which decline with age. he hasn't looked good in awhile...and the roided up silva didn't exactly impress against nick diaz.

Werdum was 24 when he had his first MMA fight.
