i just got a friend request from some random girl that i dont know and we have no mutual friends. i dont even really use my facebook, i havnt posted anything in nearly a year. she is mildly attractive and i feel this is a ruse has this happened to anyone else

Yeah that happened to me too. It's probably a guy and a scam. No way they created their FB a month ago, have only 5 friends from random states and they are hanging out with all these ppl in their profile pics or who they are at the beach with. How would none of these people or family, etc. be part of their friends list?

But how do you scam someone over FB exactly is my question. Maybe once you are friends they message you or try to stalk you? No idea.

They message you and request to meet up, if you refuse they'll end up stalking you. Now if you do agree to meet up with them, you'll soon find out it's a dude called Gary and he will beat you up and steal your money or they end up being a tranny and you bang a dude because if you're desperate enough to meet up with a person that added you on FB you might as well go for it, right? Right??
