I'll fill some gaps for you guys. Historically speaking the Dagestanis and Chechens were never on the strongest terms but maintained cordial neighbourly relations. Then Kadyrov in 2019 made disparaging comments on Dagestans national Hero Imam Shamil https://oc-media.org/kadyrov-causes-outrage-in-daghestan-with-comments-on-imam-shamil/. Khabib like many other dagestanis were quick to defend the honor of Imam Shamil and posted on Instagram rebuking the statements of Kadyrov. Ever since then Kadyrov is butt hurt Khabib doesn't kiss his ass like his brainless underlings and has since been cold towards Khabib. This is the latest rounds of escalations.
