They took a point from Marquardt for doing it to Leites though I think that's the only time I've seen a head spike other than Belcher vs Cote(though they didn't penalize that one).

Which was not called a foul as I recall.

I could be wrong anyone else remember? I feel like Marquardt got a foul for something else but not the spike and Nate should have won but lost due to the point taken whichbis why Leites got the fight with Anderson.

Edit: post above says it was called a foul...

Indeed, its the way Bader reacts that makes it a head spike, he tucks his head in and its a pretty normal slam.

They didn't take a point from Marquardt. He got 2 points taken away in that fight, neither was for spiking.

It amazed me that Bader wasn't hurt or seemingly affected by that slam. No idea how the arm wasn't injured at least.

I think I remember him saying in the post fight speech that he was rocked a little bit, but he recovered

Why is this a discussion? Unless we are in pro-wrestling land and you are doing an Undertaker esk direct tombstone piledriver while your opponent is unconscious, how can few if any be derived as a deliberate spike? Let go of position for fucks sake and said head spike is now undone.

Bader caused himself to be slammed on his head by twisting midair

I've been watching this stuff for 20 plus years and I honestly have no idea what constitutes an illegal slam .
To me this is a perfect example of spiking someone on their head .
Someday someone is going to get paralyzed
