Rampage v. Sonnen

Who you guys got in this one? It's such an odd fight for me to pick because it feels like duh rampage until i think a little more. Page is only a hw because he's fat these days, he's become allergic to the ground game, and doesn't have good knees. That seems to be in Sonnen's favor except Sonnen quits these days at first sign of trouble.


I can't pick this one, i can see Sonnen killing rampage on the ground for 3 rounds or sonnen quitting the first good punch page lands. Who you guys got?

well, King Mo had a hard time getting and keeping Rampage down and doing damage.

i really don't think Sonnen can eke out two rounds via keeping Rampage from getting up. and since that's his only path to victory, Rampage.

frankly i'm amazed Rampage is only a -145 overdog. i might throw down a bigger than usual bet.

You're only the second person I have ever seen refer to a betting favorite as an "overdog" in all the years I have been betting on combat sports. Someone told me they use that for other sports sometimes. Still sounds really strange to me.

really? huh. i may have picked it up from my granddad or something.

but why does it sound strange? what do you call the opposite of "underdog"? "favorite", i suppose....

Ballsy prediction. Rampage has only ever been submitted by Jones and Saku. I don't personally feel that Chael is crafty enough to submit him, even old, fat Rampage. Never know in the fight game though. If you end up calling it, that's quite the prediction.

Calling it in a post no one is going to remember if it doesn't happen is one thing, it's way more impressive to throw a few dollars on it at what will surely be pretty generous odds if one really believes that might happen.

I think Page could get a tko, Sonnen gets clipped a lot. He fights way too recklessly and Page still has got some good sense of timing.

Sonnen hasn't faired well against bigger, stronger guys and I expect Page to be somewhere around 240-250 and will look a lot physically bigger than Sonnen.
