It was the best public tracker torrent that was left... private trackers just don't have nearly the amount of stuff and hardly has any seeders.

Owner was arrested.

I don't know why anyone would really want to get into that racket. Never seems to turn out well.

1. Didn't the PB guys get arrested too? And then PB was up again like a week later.

2. Why are US authorities arresting guys in Poland?

3. Honestly, I don't want anyone to go to jail, but I wish piracy would go away. I'm not saying I never download shit, but I know that movies and music should not be free. A hell of a lot of money, talent and time goes into producing and distributing music and video entertainment and torrents really do equal theft.

Awful news for all of us. Hope that dude only gets a fine or something.

How will I ever pirate yakuza movies now??

Not to mention the back catalogue of the Cocteau Twins.

This just ruined my life.

Well some proxy sites are still up. And I think they have a website on Tor (though it should be noted that downloading torrents from there doesnt mean that their traffic goes through Tor and therefore is anonymous).

Seriously, this just drives people to use VPN's and Tor more and more.

Don't feel bad about piracy that much. Especially when it is product from US companies. When Disney makes $1billion off of one movie, they can fuck off if they think I even slightly feel bad about downloading said movie for free.

Really, they can go suck a fuck. But they'd better keep churning out Marvel movies so I can steal them though, goddammit!

I checked the site this morning and it was down, hoped it would be resolved when I got home from work.

worst news ever

I love what the US attorney said: "Copyright infringement exacts a large toll, a very human one, on the artists and businesses whose livelihood hinges on their creative inventions".
not that it justifies piracy, but can he be any more full of shit?

phew, just finished d'ling Monster anime a few days ago.

goddamn it, at this rate I might as well start direct depositing my paycheque to Bell.. those fuckers keep buying up all the rights to everything...

It doesn't equal theft. I wont say it's morally right but it's not the same as stealing or theft it should be in it's own category. Theft involves me taking something from you that you no longer have now because I took it. The only thing that would be similar to that is if I had a machine that could make a copy of whatever you owned and own it as well but for free (other than this cost of the machine to make a copy). That way you would still own your product and could sell it or do whatever you wanted with it but I now own it as well.
