I used to work at a restaurant when I was a senior in HS and I quit by coming in on my day off slightly intoxicated, ordering some food with my 50% discount and then wrote a 2 week notice on the back of a napkin.

That job was shit though. I remember they raised min wage a dollar during that time and only gave me a $.25 raise. That's when I decided it was time to bounce.

I worked for the state for two years and absolutely dreading going to work everyday. I started saving up to make sure I had three months worth of rent and bills and then some. Saved up applied for jobs like crazy. I ended up putting in my two weeks before finding another job, but I had some interviews. I was unemployed for about a month but luckily found a great job and my life is a thousand times better.
Apply for a shit load of jobs and save money is all i can tell ya. Good luck brother!

Always gave my 2 weeks, but did see one of the best fired/quitting stories happen

Worked for IBM for almost 10 years and when I first started I was in the manufacturing sector where we were doing wafers (after 600-700 steps they become microchips) anyhow a wafer is about the size of a dinner plate and a container holds 25 wafers and each wafer costs $60,000, so a container is around $1.5 mill.

This guy I worked with was sick of being dicked around by management and just snapped. Called up his manager and said "you hear that sound!" and proceeded to drop an entire container of wafers on the ground, stomping on it. Gets back on the phone and goes, "here goes another one!". Does it again. He got through 4 containers before they ran online, tackled him and escorted him out. Heard they went to court over it as well.

Think of your boss as an employee, you can either fire him or lay him off. If you decide the situation warrants firing, than you don't need to give any notice. But if it doesn't rise to that level give him his two weeks notice and part ways as nicely as possible.

That guy is a fucking tool. Ruined his entire life over a little bit of money that wasn't even real.

im on my two weeks right now

theyre having trouble replacing me, since they need 2 or 3 peopleto work my shifts. so i offered to stay another week or two while they hire people

were on great terms and they still let me use the cmpany account for stuff like bulk orders and when dealing with suppliers for my business. the owner of my company also offered to mentor me and let him pick his brain about my business anytime i want

thank god i didnt put onawhole "fuck you motherfuckers" display, though it would feel good
