Its time to buy a new gi. I'm looking for a gi that doesn't take long to dry if I were to hang it up. I currently rotate between two gi's but noticed that it takes longer to dry now that its winter. Sometimes its still damp when I train. Any suggestions for a quick drying gi?

I live in a very cold region, and I bought a Gameness Air from Kinjisan for this reason(dry time). It dries in about one hour. I wash and then hang the top on a hanger and the pants on another hanger and aim my small desk fan at them.

Kaui's dry out pretty fast from what I've heard though it's not comp legal if that's a sticking point.

No dryers here in most of Korea. Even my thin ass hapkido gi takes two days to be completely dry in the winter, refuse to use my ondol to dry some damn clothes...

An hour? Define dry. Gameness Air gis take way more than an hour to dry.

Well I am telling you mine drys in an hour's time. 60 minutes. I hang the pants and top seperate from each other and aim my fan at them, and they dry in an hour. I do use an extra spin cycle to ring the water from them and my house is always very warm. That's about all I can add.

The gi doesn't have to be IBJJF legal. It'll just be a training gi that gets rotated between whatever gi is clean. I looked up some ripstop gis like Kauai and they sound like what I'm looking for. For those that own white ripstop gis: are they really that see-through when they get wet? If so, I may have to recommend them to some of the better looking girls in my class that I roll with. ;) Seriously, are they see-through when wet?

Well shit, now I'm going to have to have a dry off. I'm going to wash all of my gis tomorrow, hang dry them and see which dries first.

My Datsusara hemp gi dries out faster than my cotton gi's......I wasn't watching the clock but I'd say it takes about 12 hours of straight hang drying, no fan or anything.

I have a Lucky Gi top, the original green and white one. A guy at an old academy I trained at was selling gear left and right and I was able to buy it for $75 and it looked brand new. Anyway it and an old Sirius goldweave I own take the longest to dry. Probably pretty close to the twelve hour mark, I don't use them much anymore.

I have two gameness pearls, they take about 7 or 8 hours to be completely dry. I've never used a dryer on them, only hang dry

If you live in a cool environment, I would buy one of those little space heater fans, and just hang the gi up and point the fan at it.
