Whatsup guys, one of the first time I've posted here. Anyway, I'm 17, and am not the best cook in the world, and I'm on the go alot. So quick meals are the way to go for me. Can anyone please post your favorite meal that is quick and to the point (along with being healthy). I read the stickies and used the search function and couldn't find much. Here is a typical day for me (critique? btw, all I drink is water):

Meal 1) Breakfast shake.

Meal 2) 2 peanut butter and honey sandwhiches on honey wheat bread.

Meal 3) Usually a 2 hot dogs or hamburgers, wheat bread, ketchup...with veggies (microwaveable).

Meal 4) Usually PWO shake.

Meal 5) Usually chicken, veggies.

I would really like some other, quick easy options. Thanks for your help

Egg white omellete with mushrooms, peppers, and onions is pretty easy to make.

A can of Tuna fish with a tablespoon of flax and some cayenne pepper is quick (although not all that tasty)

A way to avoid wasting a lot of time cooking is to prepare your meals in advance; I usually bake 6 or 8 chicken breasts and heat them up throughout the week in the microwave.

if you want healthy then the last thing you want to be eating is hot dogs... pork is the only meat i personally do not touch in any form, it has absolutely no redeeming factors to my knowledge. next is burgers, if you are eating them everyday then you need to address this. sorry to go on and on but also peanut butter and honey sandwiches?? not sure quite how healthy you want to go but this absolutley nothing like a fighters diet.

oven-baked chicken breast with rice and vegetables is for me the tastiest and healthiest dinner.

boiled eggs with salad (dont over-do the sauce... if anything FORGET the sauce)

baked potato with tuna (little or no butter or mayo)

salads, pasta, potato, eggs, vegtables and lean meats are the way forward. cut back on butter, mayo, anything with lots of fat, sauces, cheese and fried food.

Pork is fine. It's the way people prepare pork that makes it horrible. Rendering lard, smoke/salt/nitrate curing, deep fat frying, etc. are all incredibly unhealthy ways to cook any meat.

Eat the damn yokes. :)

Easy meals (from a college student):
Can of tuna with half a can of green beans
Can of salmon mixed w cream cheese (low or no fat; how much is up to you. i usually use between 1/3 and 1/2 a block per can of salmon), add some garlic and onions and eat off healthy crackers or celery
Boil a chicken breast; also heat some frozen broccoli
boil a turkey burger
canned beef or chicken
bag of beef jerky

I prolly have it easier than a lot w regards to meal prep because my mom cans stuff sometimes, so I have boxes of canned meat and fruit that I can just open and start eatin', but I know where you're comin' from. A lil red pepper and garlic can help out a lot.

Well, maybe I'm just odd, but my body fat percentage is perfectly fine, my performance both (MMA and S&C) is fine...I do however understand there are better ways to eat (I've read everything from the zone to Berardi's PN to the Performance menu), I just have trouble making it.

and yes i understand its a dumb question, lol. I'm just asking for Bama

I'm too immature to understand :icon_chee.

Thanks for the ideas guys, I appreciate it.

1. Buy pre-washed spinach, cottage cheese, broccoli florets (heads), protein powder, olive oil, pepper, apple cider vinegar.

2. Put it together (minus vinegar and oil) in big bowl. Mix

3. Portion the mash into plastic containers. Now make dressing to taste with the ACV and the OO and pepper.

This should render salad for 6-8 small servings. Time, less the buying part, should be less than five minutes.

If you're feeling nutty, slice some strawberries or tangelos into this for a lil sweetness. I eat this everday BTW.

Some of my meals, currently full time student - 16 credits - so i'm faily busy, i guess.

1.) Noodles w/ veggies: half package of frozen mixed veggies
package of ramen, but toss the seasoning shit in the trash. Just throw the frozen and the ramen - minus seasoning - into a pan/pot and boil. Drain, enjoy.

2.) Raw oats w/ nancy's natural yogurt and your choice of chopped fruit. I usually use banana or apple w/ raisins.

3.) green leafy salads wi/ fresh broccoli and onion w/ vinegar or balsamic dressing.

4.) Turkey sandwiches w/ shits loads of green leafies, onions and other goodness. easy to no mayo - use balsamic, Italian or vinegar'ish dressing for spread.

5.) shit loads of green tea.

Never, EVER be afraid to eat straight up raw veggies and fruit. If you're on the go, just throw a package of that shit in your bag and snack on the run.

Stirfry (protein, ie chicken, noodles, veggies), chilli, pasta (w. tomato sauce, protein and veggies), salads (w. nuts, fruits and low cal dressing), and oatmeal + fruit.

As mentioned, lean ground turkey is a good alternative to hamburgers.

To my knowledge, most sausages and hot dogs are around 30% fat, which means there are better protein sources.

I generally just made meals like this.

Main protein -> chicken breast
secondary protein -> feta cheese or cottage cheese
veggies -> green leafies, tomatoes, cucumber etc. 3-4 different kinds of and alot!
fruit -> pineapple, pear, anything you like.
fat source -> olives or olive oil, avocado or some nuts.

Throw in everything in a bowl and mix. Throw in some garlic if you like.

I really like these kind of meals. They are fast to make. Expecially if you chop your veggies before and grill your chicken. Then its like buffet you just take food into your plate come dinnertime. By rotating different kinds of fruits and veggies you cant get tired to this "meal" :)

agreed, there's nothing wrong with a baked or slow-cooked pork tenderloin

Good, easy breakfast would be to toss some veggies/cooked meat in a bowl, and a crack 2-3 eggs over it. Microwave for 1:00/1:30 and you're golden.

Also, regarding your diet, I would look into getting more servings of green veggies. It's just not cutting it, especially for a guy who insists on criticizing people's work ethic and training knowledge

Fair enough.

I guess it just depends on how good you want to be.
No disrespect meant, but I really hope that my future opponents also eat burgers, peanut butter sanwiches and hot dogs, thinking that its all good, whilst i eat salads, rice, porridge and baked potatoes.

Okay theres nothing wrong with the occasional burger, but i wouldnt go anywhere near them within 6 weeks before a fight. Not unless you are Fedor... he can eat anything he wants it wont change anything!!
