Hi first sorry about my english, it's pretty basic xDWell to the point:

I'm starting mma and bjj this year and i need some advices:
-How many bjj and mma classes should I take a week? For example two of bjj one of mma and one of striking? Or two of mma one of bjj, etc

-Second, a 3 day strength routine is fittable doing it in the mornings and then mma, bjj in the evenings or is too much?. (I have a good over all condition).

-Which routine do you guys think is better, a madcow5x5, a 5/3/1 or a more flexible one?

Well thats all, need your help sherbrothers!!!

As many as you like.
Do you have a base in any kind of martial art or combat sport?

Try it and see what you can recover from. If you're having trouble with recovery, more technique/sport sessions are more important than strength training sessions.

It all depends on your current strength level and energy levels. What does your current strength routine look like?

1)Depends on your goals. If you wish to compete in either, prioritise that sport. If you just want to train as a hobby without competing, then train in whatever gives you the most pleasure. Or do both equally.

2)Depends on your ability to recover. Try it and see. Start with a fairly low volume of strength training and build up as you get used to the training. 5/3/1 is a good bet since it can be customised to the individual's needs.

Good luck.

First, thanks for the answer @TheeFaulted.

Im a green belt in judo so i know some throws and sumisions but not very much.

Ive been doing a leg- torso routine 4 days a week with two heavy days and two light ones. My bench max for 5 reps its 209 pounds or so. I've never done a strength program. I was doing it mostly for aesthetics but i want a solid base of strength now.

My personal suggestion would be start a beginner program such as Starting Strength. As you exhaust those noob gains move on to something like the 5/3/1. I used the 5/3/1 2 day split during my competitive years, and it balanced great with my workload. I also paired it with some LSD road work and some hill sprints after the lifting sessions.

Also, just a personal opinion, but MMA is a very unforgiving sport to begin competing without a previous background. I'd definitely suggest competing in a different combat sport first. I've seen too many guys to count who showed up, all fired up about competing in MMA, get in way over their head on their first match, get injured and then never show up again. The guys who have previous competitive experience in wrestling/boxing/etc gauge their talent level better, and wait until they're more prepared to compete.

If you want to compete in mma you need to train a lot more your skills.

BJJ two times per week, striking once a week, mma once a week and lifting weight 3 times per week?
How about bjj 5 times per week, striking 4 times per week, mma 3 times per week, and doing a full body strength routine once a week?

If you train a skillset once a week you will never feel ready.
