Hey everyone,

Hope you've been well. I have an interview coming up with Yair Rodriguez later today. As per usual, feel free to leave your questions below and I'll pick a few (generally 2-3) to ask him ahead of his interim featherweight title fight against Josh Emmett at UFC 284.

All the best!

What did he do to improve his cardio? Before the Max fight he gassed multiple times. When he fought Max he went 5 hard rounds with one of the best pace monsters in the sport and looked fine throughout it.

His style has calmed down a lot more and he seems to be more focussed on technique. What have been the big changes he's made in camp?

You have to ask something about his fight with Zombie. That was one of if not the greatest/craziest end to a fight I've ever seen.

Why did he keep stalling the action by trying to high five/embrace against KZ?

This left a sour taste for the longest time. I think Yair put things right in the Holloway fight though, earned my hespect in that one for sure

Why has he been quite unactive before the fight with Max Halloway, prior to that fight he fought Jeremy Stephens in 2019.

Great question.
Zombie looked confused by all that horse shit.

He did it 3 times in the 5th round alone. Each time when KZ was putting it on him.

It's clear that it was meant to interrupt KZ's momentum/flow of action.

On the last one, after he halted the fight, he kicks KZ to the body and this was when KZ tried to pay him back and then the elbow came at the buzzer.

Craziest shit. I believe the constant halting of the action played a factor and was done for this purpose.

It shouldn't be allowed. It's like calling "time out", which a fighter cannot do in a fight.

It should be allowed, but we shouldn’t blame the opponent for suckering him right there and then. Defend yourselves at all times

Fighters aren't allowed to call time out for a reason. You want fights to be constantly halted by fighters themselves?

You can't see how this could be manipulated?
