1. How did Tattaglia and Sollozzo know that Luca Brasi didn't really intend to betray Don Vito?
2. On their way to Louis' Restaurant in the Bronx, were they testing or trying to rattle Mike when he asked if they were heading to Jersey?
3. During the peace treaty of the five families, how did Don Vito knew it was Barzini all along?
4. How many waitresses were working in Moe Green's casino? Why can't the players get drinks when Fredo was only banging two?

1. I think it was just known that he was fiercely loyal to The Godfather and had to be taken out pre-emptively.
2. They were just trying to shake any tails and keep Michael on his back foot by not giving him any more information than necessary.
3. Vito was a top tier strategist and correctly determined that Tattaglia couldn't have come up with so effective a plan, and Barzini's actions at the treaty showed to the discerning eye that he benefited most from both the actions before the treaty and the treaty itself.
4. Moe was probably overstating the impact on customer service.

3. Don Vito knew it was Barzini all along because Tattaglia was a pimp who could have never beaten his boy, Santino. He had to have help and Vito saw a tell in Barzini.

Luca was simple, practically retarded. He couldn't have thought of something like that on his own. Not only that, but it was better to send a message by killing Luca than having him on their payroll.

1. Is this trilogy actually REALLY worth watching?

Never got around to it.. Though I love Pulp Fiction.. Blow.. Goodfellas.. The Sopranos.. Boardwalk Empire.. The Wire etc.

Will I love it knowing absolutely NOTHING about the storyline or anything ahead oif time? Got it downloaded already but never gave it a shot for some reason.

Yes. It's amazing.

Well, the first 2 are anyways.

I keep hearing that.

But at least does the third one stay with the same "feeling" of the series, finish things offf - it's not like an abosulte SHIT movie right? It's just, not "as good" as the first two?

The first two movies are arguably the best two films ever made. I don't know how you could love Goodfellas and The Sopranos and have no interest in checking out The Godfather films.

yes. Its incredible. The first 2 movies are as close to perfection as movies can get.

The third one does succeed in mostly keeping the same tone, even if it's not up to the same quality. It's a movie that's worth watching, and doesn't shit on its predecessors like Terminator 3 or anything. It's not an all time great by any stretch of the imagination, though.

Oh I have, for sure. I just never found time or forgot about it. I really want to see them.

About this whole 3rd movie issue though - at least I know in advanced that it's not as good and won't expect a HUGE finale or anything.

3 is much different because it takes place decades later. Worth watching, but if you don't you'll have seen all you needed to see in I & II.

Okay thank you for that info. That at least tells me 1&2 have their own start , middle and ending then which is comforting.

Saw they just put 1 and 2

Yeah. Its the best mob movie ever (1 and 2 i consider one movie)

Currently finishing up season 4 (the best season of any TV show period) of The Wire, for the 5th time rewatching the series.. love it...

Then it looks like The Godfather is my next binge. Excited.

Never seen any of the Star Wars movies either, yeah.

Loved LOTR though. Prob watched 5 times as well.

So basically 1-2 is a big movie in itself that is amazing, and 3 is like an afterthought - sort of "extra" in the Godfather universe , does that sound correct?

<Huh2>

Yep, its a good feeling.

But I have seen every tv show worth watching. I wish I could go back in time and "unknow" them.. but it seems The Godfather and Star Wars are still brain neuron virgins to my memories.

It's funny how every TV show or movie involving the mob is like, automatically god-tier
