For those that said Bisping won, where do you stand on GSP/Hendricks? In the last few years that seemed to be the gold standard of the "Damage should win a fight" Argument. I re-watched that one last night on fight pass just to see again all the damage GSP took and recall all the outrage over the decision. Still a close fight IMO, but all anyone said was "GSP got beat up, look at his face, horrible decision" Well Bisping got murked far worse, not even close. Didn't see GSP get floored multiple times with punches and nearly finished in multiple rounds..

I scored GSP/Hendricks for Hendricks, but it came down to one close round.

I scored Bisping/Hendo for Bisping. Rounds 2 and 5 were close, and there was a very strong case for round 1 being a 10-8.

In both fights I understand how people could see it differently.

If we are gonna talk about the damage criteria, remember that Hendricks was handed a 6 month medical suspension while GSP was back to the gym the next day.

I agreed with the judges in both fights.Close but clear decisions. Don't really like the "damage" argument; coming back from a near KO and taking the fight over should count for more than landing one or two flush bombs.

Different fights, in GSP/Hendricks you had nailed on 2 rounds each, with no debatable 10-8s, and a close round 1 which could have gone either way (I'd go 10-10).
This one you've gota 10-8 round 1, round 2 could go either way, rounds 3 and 4 nailed on for Bisping, and a close round 5. The scoring system is too subjective to make a concrete score for this one, but I'd take 47-47, with 10-10s for 2 and 5, a 10-8 for 1, and 2x10-9s for 3 and 4.
Hendo can't really complain about not getting the 10-8 though after the Shogun fight

hendricks out pointed gsp

i cant see how people score the 1st round for gsp.

i also think bisping won the last 3 rounds against hendo. if the first was a 10-8 or not i dont know.

Both were very very close fights for different reasons. The scoring rules have room for interpretation, therefore both fights could've gone either way.

I scored the fight for Bisping or a draw, i scored the GSP-Hendricks fight for Hendricks, purely just based on round for round scoring. And in fights that close that is always a personal interpretation.

Volume of strikes only matters when you're not a Diaz brother.

Also, I thought Hendo won 3-1-1, and GSP vs Hendricks was a draw.

Bisping and GSP,both won their fights... Period.

Only the haters disagree.

If you don't think Bisping damaged Hendo why the hell was he backing up like a bitch 90 percent of the fight. Hendo knew and felt the danger he was in.

I had Hendricks in that fight 3-2, regrettablely I had Bisping (3-2) rds. 3,4,5

Do you not understand fighting? This is one of the most "casual" comments I've ever read.

It's called preserving his gas tank and engaging when it's most opportune for him. Jesus, go back to watching soccer ffs

Hendricks won, because he won 3 of the rounds.

Fights are not even comparable.

Yet again people (like yourself) have a boner for damage as a scoring criteria and you know that most people scored that for Hendricks. You are trying to make the point that Dan was Hendricks and GSP was Bisping. This simply isn't true, there were not 3 rounds that GSP won in that fight, not the fight that I watched.

I thought GSP won because he kept a higher pace even though Hendricks managed to catch him a few times. Same with Bisping. While they both took way more damage overall, they landed more and kept the pressure from beginning to end. Been a while since I watched that GSP fight though so who knows.

I scored it, 2,3,4 for bisping and 1 and 5 for Hendo. It can be argued that Hendo won round 2, but I couldn't give it to HEndo for just landing that one big shot at the 1 minute mark. In boxing, that would clearly be a round for Hendo. Bisping was landing his shots majority of the night while Hendo really just relied on that one punch knock out. I wished Hendo actually did more than load up on that shot. If you're judging on the face of the competitor and knock downs, then of course Hendo won clearly. I judged it on octagon control, effective striking, aggressiveness and defense. Bisping had all of those and won it at the end.

One last question for the idiots on here? Is this a fight? Or is it a sport where the goal is cosmetic damage to the face? Otherwise they would scratch bite and claw at each other. Bisping was hurting him and dominating him and he stood up after the 1st knockdown. Even in Pride Rules Hendo would have been killed.

The way things look on the surface are not always the way they really are.
I thought GSP won by the rules.
If the rules were different, GSP would have fought differently.
Two knock downs by Hendo should count for something.
I don't have an opinion on Bisping Hendo 2, I'll rewatch.
I certainly don't think Hendo was robbed.
