Check it out. Are you familiar with VoIP? Internet services you can use to call or text a phone from your computer. Generally helpful for a lot of reasons, especially if you would prefer to keep your identity concealed. In this case, so you can text to a cell, my cell.
I got some strange messages involving some personal information about myself, this morning at about 2am. The number showed up as an out of state number, I looked it up, low and behold it from a VoIP center.

So my question is: are any of you familiar with a means to back trace that shit? I'm pretty sure it's dead end, but im also positive most of you know more about computers than me.
    Thanks in advance.

TL;DR The internet is a weird place.

Strange messages with your personal information? Elaborate. Sounds intriguing.

I'll divulge the story in it's entirety if someone can help me successfully handle this. I would have gone into details, had it not been very 'interesting' circumstances. That can be the prize if it works. I'm pretty liberal with what I say under my internet anonymity, but even this is a little more than I would want to share with all of Sherdog.

You can try https://callmanager/dna for dialed number analyser. Might work not sure. Or buy a spoof card and call back from a made up number. That has worked for me several times getting the person to pick up. Then you dont have to block your number and make them suspicious. You can call back with a number that has their same area code and first 3 digits. Spoof cards let you call or text someone while showing any # you choose on their caller id.

Edit i guess that site is down now oops

Those fucking telemarketers using Voip annoy the shit outta me.

Last year we had 'Brian' from New York, who was probably 'Pablo' from Manila, call everyone in the office with me last. Before he got a word in, I told him that if he keeps calling us on our direct numbers one by one again, I will find him and kill his family. Then I hung up.

He spent his entire day trying to call me and I ignored him until the very end of the day. I finally picked up his call before I left and was going to tell him to fuck off, but he started calling me '****-sucker' and 'mother fucker' etc. His accent and anger made me laugh so hard so I could no longer be angry at him. I let him vent and then told 'Brian' thanks for the call and to have a nice day.
