I got a question that hopefully you guys can answer for me. I heard the pride replica gloves that were sold on the pride website were not the same as the ones that were used in the ring. Does anyone know who made the pride replicas? i heard they were made by ouano, can anyone confirm this? and does anyone know who made the official in ring gloves?

I saw this thread and went "Oh yeah, I'm the guy to ask" being the Pride fan that I am. But seriously, for shit like this, I have no idea.

I'm sorry I don't know, but I'll use this post to bump your question for you.

Iirc they're not the same. Lower quality materials, build, etc. I'm pretty sure you used to be able to buy either replica or the real deal, with the replica being maybe half the price. I think you may have trouble finding a 'proper' pair now.

I never managed to get a pair, too poor at the time.

One of our Eastern posters may have more info.

The official Pride gloves were made in small batches for each event. They are hard to find.

Probably worth investing in a pair as a collector's item if that's your thing.

Yeah, they were different almost every event. Not hugely different but just a little different.

If you are looking for some to use for actually training take a look at these (company is supported by Bas I believe):
Fightgear for Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts and More at Thunder Fight Gear

I wore them to a workout and my trainer basically told me to leave the website so he could get a bunch for the gym.

We're in the same boat. The ship of friends, sometimes called the friend-ship.

Here's a post to bump thread... No idea who made them...

  16. I've heard Winnings made the official gloves and I also heard they make the gloves for Dream. I can't verify that, personally.

Having discussed the Pride replicas with John Ouano, he told me that "We produced a few hundred gloves for Pride in their last two years in business. We were the only company that produced the official Pride gloves for public use and sale."

As for the Thunder Pride replicas, I didn't care for them as the padding seems to be poorly placed. Fighting Road is amazing, and Green Hill makes a decent glove (the kind used in KSW). A couple of years ago V3 made an awesome Pride-style glove, but the quality has gone down over the last couple of years as they have made changes to the glove.

Here's a great looking leather replica from Bodymaker (Japan). No laces though.
