Usually it's because the thread was alive when you loaded the index but deleted before you could click on it.
Refresh the page and it should be gone.
Sometimes the thread titles will stay in the latest thread column for a while, even if the thread itself gets deleted.
Which kind of raises another question. Is there a method for what threads get picked to be under the "latest threads" column and on the front page, or are they selected at random using some sort of algorithm?
I actually asked this in the support section a while back, but all I got was a bunch of smart ass answers from the mods, so I just let it die.
I'm sure you'll be better off here.
The most recently active threads go to the top (or front)
For example, me posting this will "bump" this stupid thread
I know that. I was referring to the ten or so threads that stick for an hour or so in the "Latest Threads" box on the right hand side of the page; and the several threads that appear on Sherdog.com's home page in the Forum threads box.
Not really sure what the method is used to determine what goes in the "Latest Threads" box or how often it's refreshed but it's controlled by the main page and not by the forum.
Same for Forum Threads box on the main page so I can't answer the second part of your question either.
I have a few smart ass comments prepared that I can throw your way if you'd like though.
Thanks for the explanation. That's kind of what I figured. I was cool with the smart ass comments too. I browse the support section occasionally and it can be good for a laugh. A lot of silly questions role through here, so I don't blame you guys for entertaining yourselves.
