I know that basically all of you believe that Conor will win via KO or TKO. But assuming the improbable (from your point of view) and this fight goes to decision, can you see Conor winning? If yes, how exactly hes going to win rounds?

Least likely scenario for sure but I could see a situation where Conor can't put Khabib completely out but win rounds like the Diaz fight. It's far more likely to Khabib to win a decision than Conor.

You must be the biggest Khabib fan (or as everybody else would say, "nut hugger") on this forum

And as for him winning rounds, it's quite simple.

Outbox Khabib every round, and go for submission attempts while on the bottom. The more he works and attempts to finish the fight, the better it's going to look for the judges.

The only way Khabib wins rounds, is by taking people down and doing damage

I would doubt it. But you never know. One would think if the fight is close the wrestling would play a factor late even if it was ugly. But this man is a finisher. If he wins the likely outcome is the finish.

He's undefeated in fights that go to decision so yes, it seems like Conor can indeed win by decision.

He's still far more likely to knock him out though.

Off the shelf Conor fan answer should be something like:

You idiots thought there was no way he'd beat Diaz by decision and you were wrong. Keep doubting him.

I tend to agree with Firhas Zahabi that either guy wins via his strengths. Conor by decision might be worth putting money on because it's so unlikely.

It's possible, but seems unlikely to me. Only way I could see it is if he fights very conservative and just avoids Khabib with footwork and tags Khabib as he tries to close distance.

But I don't see him doing that for 25 minutes. Either he gets the KO or he goes down and loses a lot of energy

Conor fans are worried about this fight and I don't blame them. Most of them try to appear confident but Khabib has the potential to make him look worse than anyone he's ever fought and probably will.

And money is a technical defensive boxer. Far from a killer. Match him against Canelo and let's see what happens.

Question for people who don't think he can win a decision

Do you remember when he won a decision over Nate despite everyone saying he can't win a decision?

I don't see how Khabib survives for five rounds, but I suppose if it occurs, then yes. Not only do I believe it, I'm confident as can be the judges will call Conor's name.

I am not a Conor "fan".

Yes, he could win by decision.

On another note, he could win by KO, TKO, DQ, Exhaustion and Submission. Just in case you were wondering.

I won't be surprised. Khabib only wants to change Mcgregor's face and mind. 5 rounds should be enough

Conor beat Nate in a 5 rounder

Khabib is not a big finisher. He's had 5 of his last 7 fights go to decision. One of his stoppages was vs Horcher. Johnson is the other and he is 1-5 in his last 6, been finished 3 in a row, and just got finished by Elkins at 145lbs.

Khabib is a good fighter and a terrible style match up for Conor but he's also terribly over rated. His record is insanely padded. He just looked very vulnerable in the championship rounds vs Iaquinta, he's definitely going to be in deep shit if he doesn't bank a couple early rounds.

That said, Conor will likely catch Khabib on the way in early in the fight or it will be a grueling grind (which favors Khabib). I don't think Conor by decision is a likely outcome but it's certainly not out of the question. Every time people think something is a sure thing in MMA, they get fooled. Look at Francis vs Lewis, Kimbo vs Alexander, Conor vs Diaz 2, etc.

Least likely scenario is he Conor subs him, but Conor fights always go down an unexpected (koing Aldo in one punch, losing to Diaz at 196 or winning a dec in the second one). A decision is possible after seeing the Diaz fight, Conor's improved gas tank, the birth of 'efficient McGregor' Khabib's propensity to gas and Khabib's apparent sturdy jaw and ability to take punishment. I can totally see McG winning 3 rounds and giving 2 up, especially with his improved conditioning and the fact his knee is apparently healed up, for probably the first time since the Holloway fight.

Holy Cyrano de Ballsac! I have not seen this much common sense on Sherdog since last decade. Did all the fanboys, haters and trolls scare you away? Come back and post more, we need more logic here.
