Hey guys, I'm starting westside for skinny bastards tomorrow, the one he modified for training for sports (palying college football next year). So it has me doing:
MONDAY

To me cardio is cardio, just dont go crazy with it. Is tuesday speed legs? Curious because you are gonna max squat on thursday.

Tuesday is speed out of my stance/sprinting speed, yes.

And because I'm doing the sprint training, defranco says "I suggest working up to 2 sets of 3 reps with 75-80% of your 1RM", so it wont quite be true max effort.

With the cardio is cardio comment, is that intended to mean that I should keep the sparring to saturday when I have a day specifically for cardio, or that its okay any day as long as I dont over-exert myself?

I think he meant you can use sparring for cardio but don't hurt yourself doing to much. I don't know much about wsfsb. Good luck.

i wouldnt worry to much bout it unless your trying to gain alot of weight. the westside program is designed around minimilism to help hard gainers gain weight. if this is you then your gunna have to up the cals to prevent weight loss. im no pro but from what i have read bout westside id recomend a lil change. id move to having your max effort lowerbody to the last workout of the week if you can just so you can recover properly (unless you dont get much soreness) by the way thi is just my opinion as im following a similar program.

i dont like that your speed day legs is on tues and you max squat on thursday. When I did westside this what I did and it worked great

Sun- Speed bench
Mon-max squat
tues-off
wed-max bench
thurs- speed squat
fri-deads(using prilepins table, varying percentage each week)
sat-off
