A friend of mine suggested that I try out this exercise to improve my punching power:

    Lever One Arm Press

My question is, which muscle groups does this exercise utilize (i.e Biceps/Triceps/Chest/etc)?

Any help would be much appreciated.

I actually like this exercise while facing the bar instead of having to push to the side, because it works more of your anti-rotation muscles.

    Tris, delts, pecs, obliques, abs.

Would it increase punching power? Probably not. Power is the rate of force generation as fast as possible, and this exercise doesn't really do that.

Well I would look at what you're doing already to work on punching power. (bag, sparring, coach) How's your setup when you punch? Are you using your hips? And so on before looking at exercises to help you with your power.
