well , now ive been weightlifting for about 1 and a half years. When i began , i was really skinny (128lb) i dont even remember what was my first bench (i dont want to remember), but the thing is , now i can bench 215 lb for 1 rep. i want to know is this is too little due to my year and a half of weightlifting , and of my weight , now i weight 148lb.
Of course it's too weak. It'll always be too weak. That's the point. Treat all your lifts like they are too weak and must be radically improved and you will a) always struggle to get better and b) be less likely to act like a prick. BTW, asking this question is outlawed. READ THE STICKIES!
What can you military press? How many pullups can you do? Many people forget that the shoulder girdle, triceps, rear delts and lats also help play a part in determining how much you bench.
shoulder girdle, triceps, rear delts and lats also help play a part in determining how much you bench. Exactly. If you can Bench over your bodyweight, good. I would put more energy into chinups, deadlifts, Olympic lifts, etc. Espically overhead standing presses. Bench is way overated. Its good for somethings, but not most things.
um i ussually do not train either dips or military press , cause instead of military press i do presses with dumbells. u think i have to add dips and military press to increase my bench?
I too am small, started working out hardcore seriously at a walking 140lbs, after about 9 months my bench went from repping 155, to 245 no joke. 3 days a week. I have dietted the whole time and kept tabs on myself i now i walk around a lean 178lbs. But a side note, after a certain amount of time most people will platuea as far as lifting, but you can overcome this by changing your workouts, shaking things up work new muscles and your bench will continue to increase
Mess with your rep scheme when you platuea. I think if you are making progress than its not too little, but I suggest posting up your routine for people to hepl you out with.
I think this sums it up perfectly Strength is like money, or hard drive space - you can never have enough!
