If an opponent is on his back, would a fighter be allowed to jump over/into his guard with the intention of landing on the opponent's body with both knees? I know it sounds goofy, and you'd likely land on the shins or eat an upkick for your troubles, but I'm thinking of Mark Hunt type stuff here that I haven't really seen in UFC yet.

I don't see why not.

but if your knee, shin or foot hits their head, it would likely be considered an illegal strike to a grounded opponent, AFAIK.

Yes you could.

You could even do a double strike. Elbow to the head and knee to the body

knees to the body of a downed opponent are legal.

even if they did, unless it looked like they were actually trying to strike the opponent, it's doubtful the ref would say anything. You're allowed to put you leg, knee, or foot on a persons head, you just can't strike them.

I was thinking the same things, with the exception of that whole double-strike thing, haha... Anyways, I wonder if Struve will be hesitant to pull guard against the Atomic Butt Dropper

Edit: I just remembered Struve rarely if ever is hesitant for any reason...so I doubt this will affect his gameplan.

Hmm. Interesting idea. I'm pretty sure it would hurt like hell for the other guy.

Just curious, have you ever cornered for Zaromskis? lol
