I've used them but I haven't owned them. I wouldn't want to, either. The thumbs were too straight for me to make a proper fist in them.

They might work for you, though. I recommend trying a pair on before buying.

The leather is nice thick and top quality, but the ergonomics aren't that great. It has a straight thumb which I don't really like, and there is no grip bar which makes it a little more uncomfortable to punch for me. Wouldn't think about buying a pair at full price, but I'm sure they would last a long time.

I have them and used them for sparring for about a year and now all I use them for is pad/bag gloves. They have been great and are still in awesome condition, I only switched them out because I bought a pair of Shevlin gloves and I love them for sparring.

mmahq has BGV1's for todays deal of the day (70$).

I've never seen them with the mesh palm before though. Is that something new?

I have them and their quality is top notch. My only complaint is that the hand compartment is big for me even with 180" handwraps however the one pdf image posted above says they have a new tight-fit design, which should be perfect. They're also the nicest looking gloves IMO.
