And speaking of exposing the business! I had a yacht rock playlist going today while doing some work and I had never heard this song before



I had no idea that Regulate was a sample. This damn business, man!

I love that song, surprised you never heard it before, it is a smooth classic, no doubt about it


I know everything from the old classic rap songs that I love is samples but I still get a kick when I hear some song i never heard before and realize thats where one of my favorite rap songs got its dope ass beat from

It doesnt happen that often anymore cause ole Pete done just about heard it all but every great once in awhile Spotify or Youtube will manage to slip a new one in on me and I dig it when they do

There were a buncha non Apter mags in the 80's that were like that, bigger pages and an all glossy layout, Gold Belt Wrestling, Wrestling Eye, Main Event Wrestling, Wrestling Superstars, etc. that would occasionally pop up at one store's magazine aisle or another, and looking back on it they probably all were less bullshit than the Apter mags but I always saw them as second rate because they didnt have the professional look and feel of the Apter mags

The Apter mags, with its black and white pages and monthly columns felt like real news while the others felt like home made fanzines to me

I'd buy them here or there if i came across them but they were never in my regular rotation like the Apters were

I guess theres something to be said for presentation

I guess I just liked the pictures!
