He might be Vince Russo but Taylor Sheridan knows that hot women with tight butts are best for business (also see S2 of Lioness).

It was his best performance for me. John is a selfish prick and anyone else playing him would have made the show unwatchable. Costner brings just enough of that classic Costner charm and heart to it to make you kinda root for him, despite the fact that he murders people over a cattle ranch, treats his ranch hands like property and seemingly hates his children. You're not missing anything though, I kinda wish I had given up on it too that earlyOh, I didnt like the first couple episodes of Yellowstone but thats cause I thought Kevin Costner was supposed to be a good guy and it frazzled me to my core, never went back after that
The panic-inducing ringtone he has for her and the angry face caller ID pops me every single time and seems like something plenty of divorced men have for their ex-wivesI hate that fucking lawyer so much!!!!!!!!!
Yea, Billy Bob is perfect in this role, I guarantee theres ex-husbands all over this great land that identified strongly with that character and the way Billy Bob is playing it
Ali is also great in her role, you see what I mean about it being a continuation of Varsity Blues, it fits the storyline 100%
I'll save my thoughts on Jon Hamm til you finish it
Taylor Sheridan is definitely getting free reign here, I dont know if youve gotten to the Bud Light line yet but it made me chuckle that he could put that into the show to reinforce the tone of the characters and the fan base, its not a huge moment but a lot of networks wouldve forced it to be removed
I forgot about him being the sheriff on SoA.He writes like McMahon too, using his show as a platform for grievances
When he was just working as an actor, he thought he was going go the the co-lead on Sons of Anarchy with Jax. He supposedly pitched a fit when he realized he was just a side character at best and had a falling out with Sutter. That's why his character was randomly killed off.
Then in Yellowstone, bikers who specifically mention that they are from California break into the ranch to camp for the night. All the ranchers kick their asses and Rip monster trucks over their bikes with his dually. Then the bikers come back that night for revenge and get their ass kicked again and have to beg for their lives lol
Well of course he is! His character on Yellowstone was a horse trainer who is the best rider in the world that sells prized studs for $3 million each and lives in a giant mansion cohabitated by dozens of swimsuit models 24/7. I'm not making a word of that up.I forgot about him being the sheriff on SoA.
His character on the Lioness is basically this legendary grizzled old Rambo who saves the day taking out 100 guys at once.
@Batjester I suspect I will enjoy this, looks like theyre going All In on the 50's retro future vibe like we hoped, I know they have to blast them to the future so they can kick off the next huge multi movie storyline with Galactus as the main baddie but I hope most of this movie takes place in the olden times
Ben Grimm's voice is gonna take some getting used to, though
I liked his character on SOA, lol.He writes like McMahon too, using his show as a platform for grievances

They really nailed the tone in those clips. I imagine they are going to run the "alternate universe" angle with this movie rather than going with a time travel angle. Too much has been established in the main Marvel timeline to retcon the FF in. They'll do the same with the X-Men.
Ben's voice will take some getting used to, but the more I think about it (I've got a lot of free time right now) the more I think it's going to work. Still not sold on having Galactus appear so soon. He's a Thanos level threat, but the more I also think about this (see, WAY too much free time), the FF have a pretty weak overall villain cast for big names at least.
Galactus
Dr Doom (tied up with the next Avengers movie)
Mole Man (could have been ok, just 1st movie worthy)
Kree/Skrulls/Super Skrull (Super Skrull is amazing but would have been hard to go with for the 1st movie - and that really bad show kinda killed off any heat the Skrulls could have had).
Annihilus - This would have been my choice. Alien threat along the lines of the Chitari, Negative Zone gets introduced, and you can then slowly bring Big G in.
Namor/Sub-Mariner - ruined in the 2nd Black Panther movie. I still want to see him trying to steal Sue from Reed though.

@Pliny Pete I'm listening to an old BTS covering early 83 and apparently Ole was planning on running west coast shows with Ann Gunkel promoting?
It had potential. Him being the true to the law sheriff that doesn't cut the Sons a break could have been interesting. He's not a bad actor when he's not writing for himselfI liked his character on SOA, lol.
I thought a good fool to Tara snd Jax too, like he’s literally what Tara claims she wants. It had potential. Him being the true to the law sheriff that doesn't cut the Sons a break could have been interesting. He's not a bad actor when he's not writing for himself
I only like Costner as a bad guy. Maybe I should check it out.Oh, I didnt like the first couple episodes of Yellowstone but thats cause I thought Kevin Costner was supposed to be a good guy and it frazzled me to my core, never went back after that
