Maybe I should clarify. In Russia it's like that - about porn, it's "illegal distribution of porn" that's illegal, in theory, there should be something like legal distribution of porn but I think lawmakers didn't do anything (like, explaining what is a legal/illegal distribution and where is the difference) since 1990's and from what I read the process of selling porn is like that - porn sellers bribes experts and these experts give them a paper (license?) that porn movie that sellers want to sell is not porn but erotic.
Same stuff with prostitution - it's illegal but there is ads on the street (in for of graffiti, for example) and stuff like that.
Also I remembered funny/stupid story about ratings - there were controversy few years ago when they inroduced rating for books, you know like 18+. So funny thing was that some books that kids must read in school (they must because it's the part of the programm) received 18+ rating and when kids tried to buy them or take them in libraries people in shops/libraries told them to get lost.
I don't think gay pride movies are banned, there were some news that something like 10 minutes was cut from that movie about Elton John and government denied that they asked to do that.
And I'm pretty sure there was a thread here about Daily Stormer website (they are like right-wing Neo-Nazi guys, who I suppose were fans of Russia) that moved to Russia and soon "the Russian media watchdog Roskomnadzor requested a shutdown of the domain".
I thnk for Western right-wing/religious people position of Russian Orthodox Church would be quite exotic - like they openly support building more mosques or recently head of Patriarch's commission on questions about family, protection of motherhood and childhood advised Russian Orthodox Christian woman to not marry Communists, Atheists, Muslims, Jehovah Witnesses and instead go to Africa because there is lot of Christians there.
