hey what kinda punching bag do you guys have at home? or do you punch at the gym? i've always wanted to get a punching bag for my home but i dont think our ceiling is strong enough to hang one, and the ones where you hang the bag ontop of a crane type device takes up too much space... can anyone tell me what they use? what brand it is so i can check it out online?

I just bought a cheap $70 heavy bag..that's like 80 lbs i think. I just use it for some light-medium bag work. I might buy a 6ft banana bag or a muay thai bag in the future when I have some space in my garage or if I move to a bigger house. My punching bag is outside...sorta attracts attention from the neighbors. -_-

Well i just got an EVERLAST punching bag for $10 at the flea market , everlast stand with a speed bag on it

everlast 70 lb bag is pretty durable, I would recomend it for home use and it runs around 100 bux canadian.

I'm about to purchase one of those Everlast sets for my place...

Friend's roommate is moving out and she's got one of those "home gym" sets...50 lbs. synthetic leather bag, stand, and speed bag for like...$50...good times...

TKO bag, it's about 80lbs...got it like new from a friend for 25$

Got my 80lb bag new for $80 cdn. THe place i got it at also had ceiling mounting kits. It included 2 large screws about 3-4" long which is plenty. Make sure you use a stud finder to locate the studs in your ceiling before you attempt to insert the screws and pre-drill the holes. 3-4" is plenty considering up to an inch is plain drywall. It is able to supoport the 80lb bag and my weight combined and I weigh about 180.

Good to know...thanks

I have a Wavemaster XXL that I like. Some people hate stand-up bags, but if you have to have a hanging alternative, I think it's one of the best. I wouldn't put it on a second floor though unless you are the only one living there because it shakes lower ceilings.

i have a shitty wavemaster original my wife got me for 50$ at a closeout sale... its a piece of shit in general but since i work from home and its in my office its gets a lot of use :)
