It is so obvious it's not even funny that Dana I did this whole Island and UFC 249 promotion just to gather some attention towards the UFC. It was too obvious that even the big five leagues shut down, the UFC was not going to do the show but they still tried to pull as much publicity towards UFC as they could and that is the only reason they did this whole stick of let's fight on an island or an Indian Casino.

This is probably the dumbest take I've read all day. This is what happens to your brain when you think everything is facade.

The fight was never going to happen

It was buzz to give espn talking heads something to talk about for a few days

because dana genuinely thought he was going to be able to put cards on, a publicity stunt has no benefit if there is nothing to publicize. Do you think the fight island hype will carry strong for the next month? Of course not, he wasn't trying to do a publicity stunt, he was trying to meet their show quota so he got $$$$.

libtard disney and mayor shits and needles ruined the card

I don't get ESPN here -- is the UFC (and this debacle, specifically) getting a lot of air time?

Personally, I think it was just Dana being a self-absorbed, greedy fuck. I have no doubt that he would have put this card on somewhere if he had the opportunity. Maybe he had inside info that the governor was going to try and shut him down and he pushed it as far as he could so that he wouldn't look like the bad guy. If you notice in any interview Dana does, he uses "I" a lot. "I'm going to do this". "I bought an island". "I'm taking care of my employees...". It's never "we", or, "the UFC/organization". It's always about him. He has officially become Dana McMahon.

Okay, Millennial!

Am I doing it right? Is that how this works?

Yeah because Dana likes being an object of ridicule so he did this to entertain a few trolls on mma message boards
