Protection For My Balls

Heyo!

I've tried a standard athletic cup (like hockey players use) and I've been using a Shock Doctor cup, but neither of these feels right.

When I wear these kinds of cups, my calls don't stay inside the cup. The edges of the cup usually rest on parts of my balls. That means that, when I get a kick to the groinl, the cup doesn't protect my balls; it crushes a ball against my leg.

This is obviously a problem.

Got any recommendations? What do the pros wear?

You're welcome. The cup is actually amazingly comfortable. I grew up using the standard cups and I never liked the feel of them. I came across this cup a few years ago because of the inventors crazy video and decided to give it a shot.

I've got nothing to lose but my balls, so I'm willing to take a shot on these badboys!

Their website says that a "package" consists of a cup, a strap and shorts.

I've always only worn a cup and strap or a cup and shorts (with a pocket for the cup).

How do you wear yours?

I wear it the way they state on the website; compression shorts, then cup, then strap. Once you get it on, it takes a bit of moving around to get everything in order, but after that it's great.

Nutty buddy have the worst customer service I ever experienced. I'll never buy from them again.

I also give a nod to the steel cup, I have me a $14 thai cup that has served me through rolling, SEVERAL knees and low shots, all from people much heavier than me, so to say it was an investment is an understatement.

Yeah . . . I'd like some more info before I place an order!

After I received the nutty buddy I realized they sent me the wrong size. I emailed them about it and it took literally a week before I got a response back from them. The lady emailed me and told me that she was out of town so she couldn't respond back. After I told her about the wrong size they sent me. She pretty much gave me the run around and then told me I'm SOL. I'd have to pay to ship the item back to them and them shipping the item back to me. almost 15 bucks (a new nutty buddy cost 20 bucks!). Which was crazy stupid considering it was them that sent me the wrong size.

Are you a big dude?

If I'm having problems with standard-sized North American gear, I doubt that standard-sized Thai gear will work for me.

I LOVE MY STEEL CUP. Go to muaythai-fighting.com decent prices and they have a sizing chart to help you find a good fit. I promise you it will be the single best piece of equipment you ever buy, seriously.

I've ordered from Nutty Buddy and didn't have any problems except that it took like 2 weeks for me to get my order. Other than that, the cup is fantastic. Although some people complain about it when grappling, in stand-up there are no problems.
