Rubies should've been started after Unification because Whittaker was still the active champion. Whittaker's belt was on the line and not Adesanya's interim belt. Izzy became the official champion after beating Whittaker. Interim is the number one contender for the belt when there are issues keeping the champion from fighting. Still an achievement but there is still a champion on top of interim champion.

Incorrect.

Technically the Interim champion belt is one half of the real belt. When Robert and Izzy entered the Octagon to fight each other they were both the champion. Izzy defended his claim to title and unified the belt.
