" Pro Wrestling Is Fake, but Its Race Problem Isn't"

Holy shit, this country has gone off the deep end. Is this guy kidding with this shit? The guy wrote an article as long as War and Peace complaining that pro wrestling is racist. I don't even watch wrestling but the Rock is a minority wrestler that isn't true of, Bobby Lashley is another. I couldn't name any other wrestlers at all but this writer is a whining douche who needs to get a life.

We get it assholes, America is horribly racist and an awful place. Now just name us a few countries where minorities are more prosperous than here and we'll gladly follow that model. Until then, piss off.

Love how they just completely ignore some guy called Dwayne Johnson...

Only one of -if not THE- most successful wrestlers of all time. Heavily, promoted by the WWE/F and a multi time world champion.

To be fair, The Rock isn't fully Black. But yeah, I see your point.

I made the mistake of reading a Cracked.com article today, bashing Robin Thicke. The guy is sleazy and a cheater. But people still talk about how 'Blurred Lines' is "rapey", when it's obviously about a coy woman. And there was a photo of Thicke groping some girl's ass in a photo, and people are saying it's sexual assault. I feel like I'm in the fucking twilight zone.

The quote says "minorities" and half black, half Samoan I'm pretty sure is well in the minority. There's only like 9 of those guys.

I loved how they put down the World Heavyweight Championship as being the 2nd tier title to the WWE title and used the Triple H-Booker T wrestlemania match as their primary example of not pushing a black man when the match was for the WHC and not the WWE title(yes I know that when Triple H had the belt it was the primary title and WWE title was 2nd).

Yes pro wrestling does a lot of stupid storylines and stereotypes but might it be possible that a lot of the black wrestlers mentioned in the article just weren't good enough to be the world champ? just like there are a number of wrestlers from other races and ethnicity that weren't champ.

Also, I never took Ron Simmons 'Damn' to be like saying, damn that shit is wack! lol

TS must be a big fan of Nation of Domination.

Don't laugh: WWE has been trying to show some social consciousness lately. So why does it still insist on making its minority wrestlers into grill-wearing, thuggish B-listers?"

Opinions?

None of the current black wrestlers are grill-wearing or thuggish, currently. So I'm not sure what the author is talking about. One is has a PhD, another is a powerlifter, one was the world's strongest man, one is a high flying fan favorite, the two guys who were in a tag team together that was recently split up were cocky athletes, and another guy is a rapper but not a thug.

I'd say the problem is a mixture of backstage politics, shit creative teams, and individual weaknesses as performers. Age is also a factor for a few of them.
