Social Pro Golfer Greg Norman tries to defend his Saudi business dealings by pointing at racism in the US

“Every country has done horrendous things in the past … just look at America with racism, for example, it’s just so embedded here, it’s just ugly,” he said.

Quite possibly true but that’s like saying you wanted to support America toward the end of slavery.

- Sportswashing by Saudi Arabia continues.

- Famous Aussie pro Golfer Greg Norman is the CEO of a new internatinal Golf League, to rival the PGA, that is backed by the Saudi Soverign Wealth Fund.

- When Norman was quizzed about Saudi Arabia , a major human rights violator, utilizing sportswashing to clean up its image, Norman hit back about racism in America.

As the organization’s frontman, Norman recently doubled down when discussing whether or not he sees any issues in partnering with a Saudi regime that has been widely scrutinized for human rights violations.

In an article published in the Financial Times, the former World No. 1 insisted he’s not being used by the group to clean up its image.

“No, I have not been used for sportswashing because I’ve been to Saudi Arabia, and I’ve seen the changes that have taken place,” Norman told the Financial Times.

Norman also equated racial issues in the United States with social issues in Saudi Arabia.

“Every country has done horrendous things in the past … just look at America with racism, for example, it’s just so embedded here, it’s just ugly,” he said.

Ofcourse we have racial issues, but to compare Saudi to the US is beyond absurd. Saudi Arabia is famous for its racism, far far worse than anything you find in any Western country.

This is not an example of a woke sports celeb, this is a very rich sports celebrity trying to find an excuse to defend his business venture with the Saudis. He is not alone; David Beckham is being paid a lot of money to be Qatar's WC 2022 brand amabassador. Both Saudi and Qatar still have defacto slavery, in the form of indentured servitude.

And lets not forget the war crimes committed by the Saudis and Emiratis in Yemen.

Isn’t there a submission grappling tournament sponsored by a guy over there?
Is it the same guy who owns/owned part of the UFC?
