I have Pog taking yellow today from Wellens + Narvaez turbo leadout on the final cat 4! (Remco will be at p79 when Narvaez starts his 45s at 11-12wkg at the front)

Alpecin rain jackets look puffy as fuck

My sleeper is buitrago.

But realistically this is MVDP, roglic, and pogi battling

It was a hard decision for me to leave him off my velogames team. I do think he’s probably the best sprinter in a perfectly flat scenario with equal leadouts. But phillipsen is so close and has a better lead out. And then Merlier is darn close, and Girmay (much cheaper) who I ended up picking is a little bit better at adapting to off scenarios and dealing with a little bit of climbing or punch.

The tour this year has a ton of little sloped finishes or climbs just before a stage sprint. I think it is going to favor someone who can survive a bit more of the difficulties. In a less competitive race or a stage race I think Milan traditionally survives a little punch. But the pace is just a different animal when you’ve got GC guys like pogi and roglic shredding it up for bonus while the sprinters are also punching

Man for a half second I thought lipowitz had made the move of the day. So that will mean he’s now ahead of roglic in GC anyways?

MVDP with a brilliant finish there.

Seems like ineos GC guys lost more time today with roglic. Death by 1,000 cuts.

My sleeper pick this year was J Blackmore on Israel premier tech. He’s in 8th right now in GC. He had really good rides on some smaller stage races. And I thought he might sneak into the top 10. I think anyone in the top 10 right now probably holds on tomorrow.

I think Tuesday, stage 4 will see some re-arranging of the order and then of course the TT on Wednesday. If Blackmore is still in the top 10 by the end of stage 5 I’ll be really impressed with him.

I didn't realise you could watch the whole race with Flobikes for free on YT (with VPN). That's pretty damn good.
both TNT sports and NBCsports have an extended highlights feature as well for long stages that don't get exciting until the
last several K's.
tbh, watching a huge peloton riding in formation on a six lane highway is less than riveting. lol
can't wait for the mountains!
