Going to Thailand in March/April. Normally I don't train there since it's so hideously expensive, but private lessons are usually worth the price. Anyone know where Saenchai might be around that time and what he might charge per session?

probably 100usd atleast
I would literally laugh in his face and say "peng mak mak" if that was the price.

500 bath is standard for private lessons. I could see myself paying 1000-1500 bath for Saenchai, but anything more is simply atrocious.

you want one of the greatest fighters alive today to do a private training session with you for $45? Good luck getting laughed out of 13 coins

Agreed, he must be a very busy man. I find it hard to believe he wouldn't ask for a decent fee especially from a foreigner he doesn't have any history with. If ts is looking for more reasonable prices I'm sure he could find a respectable Thai trainer for a good price.

He doesn't need your money or that attitude.

Training in Thailand is hideously expensive? Wut?

You think the prices in Thailand are expensive, but only want to pay of private training?

all right..

Prices in Thailand are expensive yes, but only for regular sessions of Thaiboxing. Regular sessions of Thaiboxing cost at least twice as much in Thailand compared to my country, often many times more. Everything else in Thailand, including private sessions of Thaiboxing, is 2-5 times cheaper than in my country and thus well worth the money.

Where do you live?

7000 b for 5-6 hours quality training 6 days a week for a month is expensive? Where are you from anyway.

I'd be all for a cartwheel kick to your mouth for laughing in Saenchai's face. Go see how much Michael Jordan would charge you for some Basketball training...

100 dollars usd!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?!?!?!??!!??!?!?! What a bargain! Over here at my gym I pay 110 for private lessons.... Still haven't gotten one yet, been saving up lol.

Saenchai wouldn't cartwheel kick me if I laughed and said he was expensive, he'd laugh right back and say "I know".

I just realized that we have already had this discussion.

Maybe it's just that it's really cheap to train martial arts in my country (vallentuna boxing camp that you spoke of is/was an elite gym with Thai trainer, multiple sessions per day where it still only costs around 2250 bath/month to train) and that I should stop whining about it being expensive in Thailand. It's just that it's usually so cheap in that country that I feel they are exploiting foreigners by charging so much.. Anyway, I'll just drop this and let people do what they want with their money. :)

Better off going to RSM & have one on one with Saichon.. buakaws ex trainer.. or train with buakaw .. shared room 2 meals day 1500 baht a day..

if you consider training expensive why not just pay per day, you will probably still get to train with Saenchai and it would be cheaper?

I think i paid around 1000 some years ago, but i stayed at the gym and the hotel for two weeks. You can

I saw sanchai train at Sinbi the night before his last fight at Bangla stadium.

Saenchai is worth every penny he ask for. He is the best pure "Striker" in the world for his weight and size. You have to give respect to the legend

Trained at 13 coins around 5/6 years ago and Saenchai would come and train most afternoons. If your reasonable enough he'd spar with you for a few rounds or in reality just play around with you. He would look over some of the younger fighters and occassionaly advise you on something but I am not sure how good a coach he is. To be honest you need to distinguish between a good fighter and a good coach they are not neccesarily the same thing.
