Princeton Study: U.S. No Longer An Actual Democracy

The easiest answer is the states. Mostly where it came from.

I was just at ancient Rome recently. Wasn't impressed.

Are you some sort of neo-Confederate racist? We all know those Rethuglikkkans are just waiting to (to quote our Vice President) "put y'all back in chains!"

The US has never been a democracy; it's a representative republic.

Honestly I don't care.

So what. Times change as humans evolve this is simply just a process in a greater scheme of things. Is it bad? Well that depends. Things are better than ever and humans are living longer and more comfortably (in the west/industrialized world that is). So yeah if all a bunch of Liberal kids in Princeton want to believe that we aren't in a democracy anymore than they can go ahead and do that but it does not affect the rest of us. To be quite honest as long as people have food, shelter, entertainment, and pleasure and aren't restricted from getting high or having sex then who cares who rules. I see this study as a conspiracy theorist study and it does more to harm their position than not.

Truthfully people just want Air conditioning, heating and want to know what Kim K is up to or what's on later this evening. Or hey is Tom Brady still suspended for 4 games?

The problem will be that 1% control everything and the cost of the air conditioner you want will be under their whims. They will drag you into wars that will ruin you and the country. However they will get rich from it, not you. Is that what you want?

As long as Murkans can eat Big Macs and look at Internet porn they dont care.

Wow that escalated quickly... You were just waiting for him to suggest giving the states more autonomy just so you could pull the race card, huh?

He was joking, but there's something to what he was saying. It's laughable to think that mass movements are based on process arguments. Real "states rights" movements are based on opposition to civil rights.

It started well before that, but the media tour that guy got did make the general view more public.

Agreed. I think we all saw where it was going, but the numbers Picketty is throwing around...bawgawd (not finished with it).

But of course you're the joke. And opposition to oligarchy is just "process" to you eh?
