This shit still cracks me up 20 years after first seeing it. Say what you want about Prince but he was one of a kind. Even the little things, like pulling the security guys back so they don't get too much in his shot. The Black Rob was a nice touch, and Merchant's "if ego was a crime, Prince Naseem would be on death row" is just classic.

Boxing needs personalities like this; people love to see them win, but there's others that love to see them lose. When Naz lost to Barerra people loved it too. The guy brought new fans to the sport and sold tickets at a weight class that wasn't known for big draws. I wish someone with immense talent like Inoue or JFE had that kind of bombastic personality solely for entertainment value.

I think it’s great if you’re strong enough to handle the blowback that comes from being a showman.

This was the first time i saw him fight. From the entrance to his post fight interview was pure entertainment. "Damn im lookin gooooood!"

Damn 20 years ago already? Augie put up a fight and a great sufferer a spectacular finish.

I forgot how shitty rap was even 20 years ago. Just say whatever and the like woah. Or yaundastand. or ya dig. Or insert anything that doesn’t flow and is a couple syllables. with a short sentence.

You almost have to dig back 30+ years when you had less shitty constant hooks after every line.
all degradation of a nation. And still!!!

One of Prince's best finishes and yeah when people talk about how great rap was back in "the day" I think about shit like this. I love the song but yeah Black Rob was not exactly Nas hahaha

Hell yeah, it's about making people give a shit. If people paid to see Prince win, or paid to hope he got fucked up... that's still money!

I think when people talk about good rap back in the day they mean Nas (illmatic), the early wu tang stuff etc. At least that's what I'm thinking. I don't even remember the song Naseem came out to.

People say "(insert music type here) was better (insert time period here)" because they just remember the best of that period. There were a ton of whack rappers in the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, just like there are now.

Great fighter. So quick and athletic. Could throw devastating punches from the weirdest angles. His defense was based on his insane reflexes. He relied too much on his natural gifts and not enough fundamentals. With more fundamentals he could've done better.

That Kevin Kelley one was quite an entrance too. Really showed off his full arsenal of dance moves and Kelley grew a couple of grey hairs waiting for him.

His fundamentals were designed by Brendan Ingle and were not meant to look like the standard boxer. He definetly got sloppier and more in love with his power as time went by though.
