Prime Wand/Shogun vs current Rumble

Thought of this due to the upcoming Brazil card with multiple old Brazilian legends vs younger non-Brazilians. Who would win the following 2 ultra-violent matchups? Rumble would have the height and probably weight advantage but Wand and Shogun were, uh, in great shape!

I'll take a Prime Wanderlei over Rumble
 
Shogun with his real chin goes to war against Rumble, eats some retarded shots, survives somehow, gets ugly takedowns when both are tired and knocks him the fuck out with ground and pound.
 
The thing about Rumble is the same thing with Belfort and Conor.

You survive the first several exchanges and they just sink.


Sure he could blow them out. but in their prime on all kinds of roids with their chins still in tact. I'll take them over Rumble any day. They fought in tournaments with sickening cardio while Rumble got strangled by clementi and koscheck once he couldn't blow them out.
 
Prime Wand and Shogun would get the job done because they were more complete fighters
 
Prime Wand vs Rumble would be a 50/50.

Prime Shogun vs Rumble would be a lopsided beating from Shogun.
 
Prime Wand would get KTFO.

I could see Prime Shogun/AJ go either way.
 
"Prime Shogun" is the most overrated fighter ever. Some favorable turns of fate in 05 are the only thing separating him from say Babalu Sobrol. Both he and Wand would be KTFO'd
 
Not a lot of fighter I would take over "prime" shogun tbh.

Wand, meh I love the guy death!
But was overrated because of the Pride Run (got easy/fixed fight) .

The guy was clearly avoiding competition right?
 
people saying brazilians are assuming rumble strikes with them. He would take then down with ease.

Prime Wanderli would beat Rumble, Rumble would probably be exhausted after 5 minutes.
 
AJ is a tough test for anyone at LHW or HW. Fact.

However, as other posters noted if his success doesnt come in a form of stoppage in the first minutes of the fight the chances that he loses are very very high. And both Shogun and Wanderlei were known for having tremendous chins in their primes. Plus better cardio, plus better BJJ.

Bottom line anyone saying Rumble for sure is out of his mind. Both fights are toss'em, may be moreso Shogun, since he had the better wrestling and the better overall chin (holding up until recently as incredible as it is).
 
Rumble basically quits if you fight back.
