You can try to spin it any way you want. Stipe is the most accomplished UFC heavyweight. He has more top 5 wins and titles than Tim Sylvia, and he has beaten much better fighters. Timmy would’ve gotten his ass kicked by guys like JDS and DC, because he couldn’t handle guys with speed. Which is why he would struggle against Miocic. Even old man lhw Couture almost flash ko’d him.
Stipe most likely pieces him up, because he is faster, more athletic, throws better combos, has better head movement, better wrestling, and has proved he can fight at a higher pace in later rounds. Sylvias length could cause problems, and he had a good submission game, but prime against prime, there isn’t much Sylvia does better than Stipe.

Similar title reigns. Stipe has fought older opponents and is the champion in the worst era in HW history (AA is still winning lol). Flash KOd by Old LHW randy vs KOd by Old LHW DC who has never prior held a ufc HW title (handy had). Seems a lot more similar than you would like to admit.

saying Timmeh would get KOd by so and so is just your opinion. Fact is ufc has no talent in the pipeline guys from Timmehs era like werdum, Reem, Big Ben, AA and even Alexi have all had wins in this division off late.
It’s not Stipe fault he plays with the cards he’s dealt but you are overrating him and disregarding Timmy

Sylvia has a better chance than most seem to realize. He was a tall, rangy, striker, who knew how to utilize his reach, had ko power, and good tdd. Stipe wins 2/3, but I wouldn't sleep on a prime version of Timmeh in a hypothetical scenario.

Sylvia had a short prime, granted he was on PEDs during it, when he annihilated Ricco. He looked super strong with ironclad takedown defense, very powerful, and relatively fast at that time. With modern PED avoidance consultants and updated training techniques, it's not far fetched at all to think he could compete with Stipe.

Honestly though I don't think he was any worse post PEDs, maybe better as he was less prone to errors and picked up his two best wins over Arlovski. Tim himself said the steriods were mostly about looks, burning off the fat.

Pretty clear that post Fedor he didnt have the motivation to stay in shape and well trained anymore.

it’s funny to hear people say stipe would be too fast for him.

first of all, Stipe has never looked fast. Even when he was young his speed was average at best.

and second of all, Tim fought lots of guys that were faster than him.
