We've all seen the video of them horsing around, but if that fight really happened, how would it go?

The Frank Mir that was the first man to stop Big Nog vs JBJ before he got stripped of the belt (the first time).

It would be an interesting fight. If I had to choose then I'd lean towards Mir. There were certain types of fighters that Mir struggled with and Jon isn't really in that category. Mir also would obviously be more comfortable at HW between the two.

Anyone that claims one beats the other easily or definitively is probably out to lunch.

i would say Mir.

Jon doesn’t have the striking power with which Mir loves to sleepily associate himself.

Can't count out Prime Mir vs. Anyone but Jones should take that one.

One of Mir's biggest weaknesses is complacency in the clinch or stalled grappling positions and he just takes damage. Overeem, Barnett, Lesnar, and Carwin all took advantage of that in a huge way.

Jones is one of the best clinch fighters ever, Frank would get pulverized there IMO

I think people really exaggerate the size difference between HW and LHW.

There are exceptions, but LHWs are mostly 230-240 lb men who chose to cut weight.

HWs are mostly 230-240lb men who chose not to cut weight. You see them outside of fight night side by side and most are virtually the same size.

Yes I said there are the Lesnars and the Bigoots of the world that are legit much bigger than all LHWs and most HWs.

If Jon does well against anyone , it's people who have shorter reach than him. Jon is elite and using his reach to batter his opponents . Mir wasn't particularly lengthy for a HW so I'd imagine the fight would he Jon staying out of range and peppering Mir with punches

Jones is the hardest person to bet against in MMA history. Can Frank win? Absolutely? Would he? Probably not.

Mir could win or lose any fight he was in. Hard to predict.

"best clinch fighters ever". Hahahaha. How many of Jones fights did he dominate in the clinch where his opponents matched his own size?

Jones beats him up from the outside and tko's him with a sequence that begins with a knockdown off an elbow.

Jones. I'm a Jones hater, but I think he'd be too much against Prime Mir. He would just eye-poke and oblique kick him to a UD. Mir never had the wrestling to take a guy like Jones down, and his striking as always been average at best. I think Mir's greatest strength throughout all of his career is his ability to recognize and opening (both in striking and grappling) and exploit the s*** out of it for a finish. Unfortunately, Jones has always been very hard to get out of position.

he dominated in the clinch against Cormier, who is very good at it and destroyed most of the HW division.
