Ima go with James Toney not because he is one of my favorite fighters, it because his counter punching style would be tailor made to give Hopkins trouble. That being said it wouldn't be easy and I don't see Toney KOing Hopkins but I do see him getting at least a SD.

Tough to call, Hopkins isnt active enough for Toney to counter, and Toney never loaded up on big punches for Hopkins to counter, best idea for Toney is to feint and land quick combinations while Hopkins remains patient and lands 2-4 power punches per round

Id have to go with Toney in a classic chess match

Depends which version of Hopkins we're talking. Hopkins in the late 90s (the real prime Hopkins, I think) could and often did throw a lot of punches in a fight. MW Toney was actually a pretty aggressive fighter who often did get a bit reckless. I think we'd see a lot of action and I might favour Hopkins to barely edge a decision based on being the more prepared and smarter fighter.

I'll take Tony just because he's more active and also has incredible defensive boxing skills.

It would be an ugly fight to watch.
Ugly and frustrating.

I would want this fight scheduled for 20 rounds.

This all day.

I'd of rather seen Toney vs McCellan and I'd take Toney in a UD in that based off this footage,

Watching that footage makes the bravest of souls reconsider ever stepping into a legit boxing gym IMO.

I'd favor Bernard.

Bernard doesn't throw enough to play into Toney's counter punch style, that mixed with Toney being lackadaisical/taking off rounds and Hopkins clinching style makes me lean toward Hopkins.
