Meaning 9 out of 10 times. This was technically a stylistically favorable match-up for him but he was reluctant in ever taking that fight due to miscalculation and superficial size fear.
Weidmann and Sonnen showed that GSP would have definitely beaten Anderson 90% of times. The Question is why?
Because despite Chris Weidmann being a bad-match up for Silva he was not nearly as athletic, explosive and good MMA grappler as prime GSP was.
GSP could have applied a really suffocating and grinding fight. It would be like the Weidmann fight 10x times. As GSP was capable of even getting the Takedowns from the center of the octagon. He usually use to throw one-two combos setting up a bull-rush TD that lands 100% of times and keeping Prime Spider down was easy and it was shown by Chael Sonnen and Weidmann.
Silva was tailor made for GSP stylistically but he somehow avoided fighting him and kept it safe. GSP would have beaten Silva much easier then Weidmann ever could..
GSP technically robbed himself out of this legacy fight
