Prime for prime I still think tony beats Khabib

Kevin Lee and Danny Castillo should show you that Tony has never been able to get up from bottom position against a strong top control guy. As the competition increased, better fighters with better top control exploited his weakness and he was dominated by Charles and Dariush. The only chance he would have is a sub off his back or hope Khabib got too tired from holding him down. On the other hand, we don't know what damage Khabib would inflict on Tony from top control as Khabib's ground and pound is significantly better than that of Charles/Dariush. But it should be clear that Khabib had a much easier path to victory. Elbows from the bottom didn't do anything for Tony against Dariush who wasn't even doing a good job of avoiding them. As Khabib said, Tony is too skinny to compete in the grappling.

Iaquinta is an elite survivor who stuffed every Lee takedown and beat him down late in the fight if I remember right.

Tony got worked by Lee in the first round. He was dropped from a right hand and easily taken down and mounted.

The whole Ferguson argument was how active he was from the bottom. When faced with an elite grappler who doesn't fade, he looked like a fish out of water.

In fact guys like Masvidal and Porier look far more impressive fighting off their back than Ferguson ever did.

It confirms to me that it was all built off the success of beating limited competition and a guy who notoriously fades in Lee.
 
Tony should have a few more losses on his record if not for his "accidental - on purpose" illegal shots that he lands when he's losing a fight - he tried to do it to Charles as well but Charles managed to recover .
 
Tony in his prime could've won a decision over the Khabib that fought Tibau. But prime Khabib stops Tony I believe.

His chin is better than Khabib's? He got rocked and knocked down many times... Khabib was never even slightly rocked. I really don't know what you have watched and who you are comparing, but it sure isn't a chin of those two fighters. Plus when he was dominated on the ground but much worse fighters than Khabib..

Tony is in no way quicker than Khabib...
And as for having a better chin... that is insane

Prime Tony was controlled and mounted on the ground by Kevin Lee. He was lucky Lee gassed out.

Yet Khabib didn’t lose nor lose rounds. You really don’t know about his career if you think he had yet to fight an opponent like Ferguson. Knowing history and who regional fighters are, helps if wanting to discuss truths. Opinion and reality are two vastly different things.
